Where is my belly button going?

8/27/08
25 weeks

I started back to school on Monday and am officially exhausted! I am hoping that I will get used to the new schedule and get some energy back, or I may not survive until December! I have been really lucky so far, with hardly any complaints- a little heartburn, fatigue, a slightly sore hip and recently swollen and sore feet :)

It has been really fun to feel Wade kicking more and more. He starts in as I lay down for bed at night- apparently he has insomnia just like his daddy! Me on the other hand, I sleep like a rock!

Tonight I noticed that I am losing what was left of my belly button. I showed Mark and he thought it was very strange and asked me to, "put that away!"

Visitors!

Mom, Dad, Brandon and Sam got to TX a couple days ago. Brandon and Sam are all moved into their appartment. My dad brought down the cradle that Papa Kludt made for me when I was a baby. While we were moving it, we found a note from Papa on the bottom- apparently it was meant to be! Mom and I made a new cushion for it- it looks really good!

Mom and Dad are going to the midwife with us tomorrow, that should be fun :) I bet they're excited to meet her and they'll get to hear the heartbeat too!

Mark has been really concerned because all the dreams I have been having are about little girls. He went back and double-checked all the sonogram pictures just to reassure himself.

Still kicking...

Today Mark got feel Wade kick for the first time. He has wanted to so badly, he keeps pushing on my belly hoping to feel something! It's pretty early for him to be able to feel it, but he's pretty sure Wade is advanced for his age :)

Kicking...

I got to feel Wade kick for the first time yesterday. I was lying on the couch in the computer room while Mark was on the computer. It felt like a bubble (a big one), but when I pushed on my belly, he pushed back! It made me laugh and he did it a couple times.

Today we had our first official appointment with our midwife, Mary. The heartbeat sounded good and I'm healthy (although I haven't gained any weight in a couple weeks). Mark is a little disappointed because we won't be able to get anymore sonogram pictures. Oh well, he'll just have to be kept in suspense :)

We're 80% sure- IT'S A BOY!

A couple days ago we were in a not-too-serious car accident. The lady behind us decided to go, when we (and everyone else at the stop light) were still stopped. When we went to the dr. today, she said we were fine.

I talked to my mom & dad today and they finally told me that they both thought we were going to be having a girl. I thought it would be a boy at first, but I've been having dreams where all the babies are girls...

Today the dr. told us... IT'S A BOY! She wasn't positive, but about 80% sure. Mark yelled and did a little happy dance. My mom and dad were very surprised (my mom isn't wrong very often). We go back in 2 weeks for the big ultrasound, but we're pretty sure we're having a little Wade!

In other news, we've decided that we're going to have the baby at home with a midwife instead of at the hospital. We have to meet with 2 midwives- I hope we like one of them so we won't have to search anymore...

Pregnant girls can fish too!

This last weekend, Mark & I went deep-sea fishing out of Port O'Connor. We had to ride almost an hour to the spot where we could fish, but when we got there both Mark and Buddy were a little under the weather. Me & Baby Blueberry were just fine though! I got to catch the first fish and even caught a barracuda!
So far, everyone thinks that we're having a boy. We'll get to find out on the 14th. It will either be little Lily or Wade. Every day I change my mind on whether or not I would prefer a girl or a boy...

Our family is getting bigger!

I haven't really let myself get to excited until now. I know, we went to the dr. and saw the first picture and the heartbeat a couple weeks ago (& I cried), but I didn't want to get my hopes up if something were to happen. I think now, we're in the clear! It was so awesome to see the little body and face. Mark counted both arms and legs to make sure all the pieces were there- they were! The dr. thought the baby had a cute little butt! He/she was moving around so much it was like he/she was dancing!
So far, I've felt pretty good and have only felt a little sick a couple of times. I don't think food has ever tasted so good- especially bread! I'm just starting to get my energy back, but I lose my breath and get tired quickly. But if that's it- I have no complaints!
