Money shot

Today we had our final, final sonogram. The doctor confirmed that Wade is definately Wade, with no chance of him being a girl no matter what my dreams might be about. Everything looks good, and right now he is weighing in at about 3 lbs 6 oz. I thought that seemed pretty big, but she said it was fairly average.

Mark made a comment about his nose looking a little big, which he then covered with his hand- Daddy apparently hurt his feelings! The doctor said his feet looked long and skinny, and we saw that he was hanging onto the big toe of one of his feet with his hands. It was a fun visit, very cool to see how much he has grown!

Last trimester!

28 weeks

I can't believe how quickly the time has flown by. We only have about three months left before we get to meet little Wade!! This week was very exciting- we got our stroller (yes, it's lime green :) ), found our birthing class (whew!), got some blood work done and did a little more shopping.

As for the blood work, the glucose test came back normal however, my iron was a little low, which I guess is pretty common. So I'll continue to take the supplements I've been taking and everything should be just fine.

Maryanne and I did a little more shopping this weekend, where I found the cutest pair of Cabela's camo overalls and a little airplane outfit (for Mark & Grandpa Kludt).

Tomorrow we get to go for a final sonogram just to check and make sure everything looks like it should (and so Mark can have another confirmation that it really is a boy) and then a week later we go back to (midwife) Mary for another checkup. It has been really fun lately feeling Wade kick. He moves around a lot and kicks really hard- I swear his elbow is permanently lodged right up by my ribs. Mark just says he's really strong :) I think I can feel where his head, arms and legs are. We'll be able to see if I'm right tomorrow! I really don't know how he can get any bigger, he just seems so cramped up in there already!

Successful shopping!

27 weeks

This past weekend, MaryAnne & I made a killing at several garage sales and consignment shops. We found so many things that had previously been on our registry. Most were nearly brand-new! We found a ton of toys, clothes and even our safari crib bedding. We had so much fun playing with all the toys and picking out cute little outfits :)

Today, Mark & I had an appointment with midwife Mary. Last time we went, she lectured me on how much sugar I was eating (mostly too much ice cream), and this time she told me that I need to be eating more veggies- ugh!! We also were given homework: I have to go for a sonogram (Mark is really excited to get another picture and possibly another confirmation that it really is a little boy) and a couple of blood tests in the next couple of weeks to test my iron and glucose levels. Then, we need to start thinking about a pediatrician and find a childbirth class... I see Mary again in just 3 weeks, then after that it's every 2 weeks. That means we're heading into the homestretch. I can't believe how quickly time is going, it seems like Wade will be here before we know it!

Attack of the killer lady bugs!

26 1/2 weeks

Who knew that my poor feet could get so swollen- I'm seriously thinking of bringing slippers to school to wear in my classroom... But as far as the rest of the first week, it wasn't all that bad. I think I'm getting the hang of this teaching thing.

It was definately nice to have a long weekend. Although it seemed like it just flew by! Mark & I decided that we needed to do some serious decorating this weekend because we will be spending a lot of time at our house in the near future:) After a few new rugs, pictures, and other assorted odds and ends it really looks nice. Besides the very exciting DIY projects, we did get to spend some time with our friends, family and a lot of grilling out (some good, some not-so-good).

Mark has decided that my lady bugs have definately gotten bigger. I wish I had measured them before all the expansion began... We'll see if they become mutant, monster lady bugs!

Our newest quest is to find a birthing/parenting class that is less than 10 weeks, but more than 1 day. Mark is pretty sure that we can learn everything from a DVD and a book, but I'm thinking I would like to meet with a living being- I don't get the pain meds, so this class is all I get :)

Other exciting news- Mark started on the dresser/changing table today!
