Truckin' Along...

34 weeks
It's been a couple of weeks and so much has happened. As you can see, I keep getting bigger and bigger and apparently it's not all in my belly but my feet too! I had to go this weekend to buy some new shoes (darn) because none of my old ones fit- not even the flip flops!

Also, I have had some issues with swelling in my ankles and feet and have been ordered by (midwife) Mary to rest during the day and immediately when I get home at the end of the day. So, with all my spare time during school I take a quick 15 minute break during lunch and rest on the cot in the nurse's office :) I also have started taking chlorophyll (yes, the green stuff in plants) to help detoxify my blood. Something is definately working, because my swelling has gone down significantly.

We finished our birthing class last week and of all things, Mark was a little sad to see it end. He made some friends from the class and they have been swapping recipes and cookbooks with each other- like good husbands should!

This week we get to meet Mary's assistant, Cammie, and then we begin our weekly visits! (midwife) Mary will come to our house in 2 weeks, just to get an idea of where we live and what our house is like. It was very exciting to schedule all of our last appointments- we can now see the light at the end of the tunnel!!

Sometimes comfy just isn't cute...

31 weeks

Last week Mark went on his Wyoming hunt and came back very successful with one buck and one doe. I was just as successful, with no trips to the ER this year- yay! Our neighbor was a big help exercising the dogs and checking in on me. Mark is pretty sure that when he goes away things fall to pieces around here :)

So far, we have attended 2 childbirth classes and they are actually pretty interesting and definately helpful. The lady that runs them is very holistic and "hippy" as Mark calls her, but she designs the classes around home births so that everything applies to us. Mark did miss a very important class last week, the one where she told all the dads to do anything and everything we wanted them to during labor. I know he won't believe me when I tell him that...

I suddenly realized this week that I bought all my maternity clothes thinking that I would be the same size for 9 months, with just a cute little belly. I was wrong and after a small meltdown where I was pretty sure I would only be able to wear mens extra large t-shirts from now until December, I made a few more purchases including the pants in the picture. They are a Goodwill find, and I am pretty sure that Mark thinks they are hot and will want me to wear them even after the baby is born. Sometimes I guess comfort just isn't very attractive :)
