Diapers, more teeth and more swimming

We've decided to venture out into the strange world of cloth diapers. And by "we" I mean me, dragging Mark kicking and screaming. We bought 2 new cloth diapers, with removeable pads and liners and all these cool things, howver, both were around $20 a piece and didn't work so well. Needless to say, we are opting for the "old fashioned" cloth diapers- although they aren't so old fashioned anymore. They are actually called contours and are already cut into the shape that you used to have to fold them into. Plus they have an extra little pad sew into them for extra protection. We also don't have to use pins, something called a Snappi holds it all in place. Now we are just waiting for our shipment of diapers and covers to come in before we go exclusively cloth... Mark is still mumbling about having to spray poop off diapers as I type this. Maybe someday he'll thank me for the $1,500 a year I'm saving on diapers. Maybe.

Mark says this picture makes Wade look particularly monsterly. I think it's a good shot of all 5 teeth. Still waiting on #6 to even things out. Hopefully that will let him grind his teeth a little louder- ugh!!!

Swimming, swimming, swimming. Here we are at a friend's pool. This little blow up thing is great, because it frees up Mommy and Daddy for a little while :)

He's starting to realize he can get to things even if they are not within his immediate reach. When he's sitting, he'll put his hand behind his butt and scoot himself around. He can also go forward onto his hands and knees, grab something and recover to a sitting position. While he's sitting, he can pull himself up onto furniture and people too... Mobility is just around the corner, meanwhile, I'm picturing all the stuff he's going to get into.

Bowden Twins break out of NICU!!!

Annabelle was the first to come home on Friday, but Haley didn't want to be left out and came home on Sunday. Now the family is all together at home- AT LAST!!!

We all survived- just barely!

Well Wade has successfully made it through his first illness. He had some type of virus which gave him almost 104 temp (103.8 to be exact). 2 days in a row. This caused him to sleep during short little bursts all around the clock. Of course, he could only sleep if being held by Mom or Dad or sleeping next to or on Mom or Dad. Mom and Dad were suddenly very exhausted... Thank goodness Dad took 2 days off of work. After about a day of a screaming baby I was at my wits end! After the fever went away, he developed a million little fever blisters all over in his mouth! Poor guy was starving and exhausted and hurting. He even boycotted nursing for 4 days. On the the 5th day we finally got him to take a bottle and slowly he's started nursing again.
However, lucky me, think I may have caught the virus now too...

If you're keeping count, we are now up to 5 teeth. The two on the top make him look a little vampire-like:

This is what I can do with my new teeth. See? No hands!
Sometimes I like to attack my Mom & Dad!!
Still not a fan of being on my belly for too long, however I am now able to turn myself 360 degrees and am starting to be more comfortable on my knees. I can also pull myself up to my knees and feet while I'm sitting. I think I may be mobile in multiple ways all at once!

Aunt Audra & Uncle Mark

Today we got to meet Annabelle and Haley. They are so cute! The girls are not as small as we expected and have extremely long, delicate fingers. Right now you can tell them apart- Haley has a longer, skinnier face and Annabelle's is more rounded. They are breathing without any assistance or tubes and are regulating their own temperatures, so they get to move out of their incubators into "big girl" beds tonight or tomorrow.

Happy 4th of July!

We spent the day with family swimming, swimming, swimming! Apparently this little shrimp has decided he loves the water and cannot get enough of it. Even if we slow down and try to sit with him in the water, he whines and kicks his feet to get us moving again :)

At the Grandma and Grandpa M's subdivision pool.
They filled it with patriotic beach balls which Wade tried to eat. I also went a little overboard with the sunscreen...

On one of his last days of swim class, Grandpa M joined us. Wade had a blast splashing both Mom and Grandpa!
He can even go underwater now. He knows to close his eyes and mouth, however he does seem to like to drink the water...

Welcome cousins Annabelle and Haley!

Annabelle Grace and Haley Faith arrived on 6-30-09 (which just happens to be their mommy and daddy's wedding anniversary)! Annabelle was 4 lbs 9 oz and Haley was 4 lbs 11 oz and both were 18 inches long. They both have a headful of dark hair and look just adorable. The girls are currently in the NICU and will still be in the hospital for another 2 weeks or so, but are doing just fine. They are not on oxygen, but do have tubes to help them breathe better. Their mommy and daddy and doing great also. Only moms, dads, grandmas and grandpas can go in to see them right now, so we're just getting to see them through pictures- can't wait until we can actually meet them!
