My little nephew (and I say "little" in the endearing way, not in ANY reference to his size), Gavin Austin, was born at 12:25 pm today! He came s-l-o-w-l-y into the world after 36 hours of labor (good work, Sam!) weighing 8 lbs 12 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. Although exhausted, all 3 family members are doing extremely well :)

Happy Father's Day
This year, we spent Father's Day at Dave's house (Maryanne was in MI, visiting friends and family) just relaxing. Well, actually, Mark got to spend some quality time grilling with his dad while Wade napped. Then we joined him for a bit when he woke up. When we got home, Mark and Wade decided to do some gardening together. Needless to say, it looks like Wade may have a green thumb!

Makeover!
Mark has been planning and researching and studying and even going to classes to learn how to stain concrete floors, hopefully to start his own business. When he was finally ready to test out his new skills, he decided to use our front room as the guinea pig. Here's the step-by-step process on what we did and how (beautifully) it turned out!
Step 1: Remove everything except the old, stained, nasty carpet.
Step 2: Tear up the old, stained, nasty carpet to find this...
Step 3: Clean and scrape and clean some more.
Step 4: Prepare the area (including the walls).
Step 5: Spray on the stain and watch the chemical reactions take place...
Step 6: Admire the finished product. The color is somewhere between a chocolate brown and black- BEAUTIFUL!

Yay, summer!
Summer is such a great time in TX! I love getting to spend the whole day with my boys just playing in the beautiful weather.
Wade is growing up so fast. He is very independent these days and is trying new things all the time. Lately, his favorite words are "no!" and "mine!" He doesn't want much help from his Dad or I and thinks he can do anything we can do! However, he does get into moods where he is super clingy and doesn't want me to leave the room. I guess it all balances out...
He is also playing with his words and CONSTANTLY talking. He generally doesn't even want to go to sleep because he's too busy talking! He has changed Dada into Daddy and Mama into Mommy. Papa has become Pawpaw, etc, etc. Half the time we don't know what he's saying, be he definately tries to get his point across!
...and surf the Internet apparently!
He is also taking after his Daddy and trying to fix things. He just picked up this screwdriver the other day and immediately found a screw! I'm always amazed at the things he knows how to do...
He also is very determined to dress himself.
He tried his hardest to get these pants on, and with a little help, he did it!
