And it begins...

This week has been CRAZY! I don't know if I posted anything last year or not, but I was planning on teaching 2nd grade for the first time this coming year. Well, a few days ago I was asked to return to my 4th grade team- after I (and mom and dad) had fully moved and unpacked in my new 2nd grade room. Of course I said yes, and after a full week I am back to where I started at the end of last year :) Oh well, I am definitely glad to be back with my old team!!

On another note, Wade went to daycare for the first time this week. Wade has never been watched by anyone other than his grandparents or our neighbor (who he's known since he was born). So to say the least, this week has been interesting...

We decided to put him in an in-home daycare. It is run by a lady named Leticia, but the kids call her Ms. Leti. She speaks mostly Spanish to the kids and it's actually pretty cool to hear her speak [very quickly] to the kids and watch them understand what she's saying and answer her! She has 2 other 2-year old boys, a 4-year old girl and a 16-month old girl. She cooks for the kids, they play outside, and sing and dance and play all day long. Plus she teaches them a little bit too :) She's great!

However...

He went to Ms. Leti's house for half days Monday through Wednesday and full days Thursday and Friday. Monday was fine, because it was new and he had no idea I would be leaving. Tuesday was a Disaster (yes, with a capitol "D")! He wouldn't eat and cried for the 4 straight hours I left him there. His voice was actually hoarse when I picked him up (I almost quit school that day to be a stay-at-home mom). Wednesday was a little better (he ate something and didn't cry the whole time). Thursday went surprisingly well! He actually napped for almost 2 hrs while the other kids were awake and refusing to take their naps. Exactly the opposite of what I thought would happen. Friday was also pretty good. He slept, but still refused to eat much. I tend think it might have to do with his back teeth (2 year molars) coming in.

Anyway, that's the latest:) I will try to finish posting my summer pictures this weekend. Warning: super-cute beach pictures ahead!

Kludt Visit 2010

Here are some final pictures of Kludt visit '10. There were just too many fun pictures that didn't fit under one heading, so I lumped them all together!

Wade waiting "patiently" for breakfast
Dad eating a Chopped Baker from Smokey Mo's BBQ.
Very Texas :)
Nene playing with Wade and his "babies,"
aka my Treasure Trolls from when I was a kid.
Dad before fried food night ensued
The moonflower vine, which only opens at night.
We actually watched the flowers bloom multiple times.
Very cool!

Wade is just a little bit excited about the water park

Nene

Nene (previously Nana) suddenly became Wade's best friend and protector.

If I said, "Ok Wade, time to change your diaper (go to sleep, go home, go bye bye, etc)."
Wade screamed, "NOOOOOO! Nene!" ( and hid behind her legs).

If Wade wanted "i-cube" he would check with everyone, saving Nene for last, knowing she would cave in and let him play in the cooler. This also worked for the "vacume." This is the air conditioner outside, which he could watch for hours- but only if someone picks him up since he is too short to actually see it by himself.

Nene also brought the best toys and played the best wrestling games. What a good Nene :)

See? I can talk her into anything! And I'm not even 21 yet...

Nene trying (unsucessfully) to distract Wade away from the "vacume."
Moments later they were on their way to see it for the 122nd time that day...

Which he promptly tried to shove into the fireplace...

Trip #2 to see cousin Gavin

We headed back down to visit with Brandon, Sam and cousin Gavin. Wade did great in the car, much better than last time, and even napped at their house. Maybe it was because he and Prints wore each other out, chasing each other in circles the island in the kitchen.

Wade also tried to help put shoes on Gavin, apparently he looked like he needed them.

Sam and Brandon seemed to be doing great at the Mommy & Daddy thing and Gavin was just as cute as ever!
