Punkin pickin'
Today we took Wade to Sweetberry Farms in Marble Falls. It was pretty cool, with all sorts of pumpkins, gourds and squash just laying around. They had lots of stuff to do- hay and pony rides, a corn maze and pumpkin painting. I think there were even more things to do across the street. We didn't do any of that, because Wade was so taken by all the pumpkins laying around in piles that we just let him run and play and climb on them.
There were lots of little areas to take pictures, which was nice because there were a million people trying to pose their kids and snap pictures :)
He finally picked out a Wade-size pumpkin (with a little coaxing- he wanted all the big ones) and proceeded to carry it around until his little arms gave out!
We also visited the goats, which he loved! He just loves animals and goes right up to them, puts his hand out (palm up) and lets them meet him. He laughs and laughs when they "kiss" him! He's really good about not attacking them and not sticking his fingers out- I'm always so afraid he's going to get bitten, but it hasn't happened yet.
On the way home (it's about an hour ride), we stopped and got BBQ at a little place called Peetes. It was WONDERFUL, Wade had brisket, ribs, beans, potato salad (wouldn't touch the green beans, of course) and the ice cream off our cobbler. Then on the way home he wanted crackers and "chunky-" granola. I don't know where he puts it all, but is constantly starving lately. I would assume he's growing. Again.

Happy Birthday Adriana!!

Last weekend, we went to Adriana's 3rd birthday party. I teach with her mom, Melissa, at school. Wade had a lot of fun playing with the kids and I enjoyed relaxing outside of school with all the other teachers.
It was the first time Wade played in a bounce-house. He had a great time, but of course I had to watch him like a hawk. He thought he could play with the big boys careening around and flopping all over the place. I was just sure we were going to come out of there with a broken arm or leg, but we didn't- whew!
Wade has always loved "Miss Chris," who I teach with , and her wonderful daughter Aimee. He just loved growling and making faces at her through the screen of the bounce house.

Thomas the Train
Wade & Momma on the train
I played hooky from school today and Wade and I went to Burnet to ride Thomas the Train. It was so much fun! There was so much to do there, and being a weekday, it wasn't too packed. We met up with April, Michael, Parker and Jackson and rode the steam train with them, which Wade LOVED.Wade & Parker sat still for about 3 seconds. Then it was like someone flipped a switch and they both started wiggling and going in different directions!
Riding the rails
After the man punched his ticket Wade needed to inspect it
We then wandered around and Wade got to play with train sets & blocks, he got a temporary tattoo of Thomas (which he immediately wanted off and successfully licked most of it off by the time we got home) and had a balloon animal made for him (which he bit and popped within a few minutes).
Wade was pretty sure he could make the balloons himself. He found the balloons in the man's pocket and proceeded to help himself!
Wade doesn't know who Thomas the Train is specifically, but he loves the cartoon Chuggington on the Disney channel and loves all things trains, so he had a blast! He even talked Momma into spending too much $$ on a t-shirt & toy (really just the toy, the t-shirt was all me). Oh well, what a great day...!
More choo-choo trains!
