Have yourselves a merry little Christmas...

Christmas began with a bang this year. I decided to start potty training Wade a few days ago and he has done AMAZINGLY well! I was a little worried about all the holiday festivities putting a kink in things, but not only did we have a dry candlelight service, we even made a (successful) trip to the church potty :) Plus, afterwards we went to Shelly & Greg's house for dinner and he stayed dry there too! I think we're on the right track...

We definitely had a busy holiday this year! After the candlelight service on Christmas Eve, we went to Shelly & Greg's house for dinner. We had a blast playing with all the aunts, uncles and cousins too!

That evening, Mark and I set up the train table. It took us a while, but we eventually solved the puzzle of all those train tracks! Who knew it would be so confusing?

On Christmas morning, Wade was so surprised and he absolutely LOVED his train set. We tore him away and had him open his stocking, then he instead LOVED the suckers he found in there (of which he had 2 of for breakfast- bad mommy award). He flitted around from gift to gift, but I think he had a great morning.

Then we were off to Shelly & Greg's house again for brunch in our pj's! It was great and we had fun opening gifts and playing some more. Wade got a tent from Aunt Shelly, Uncle Greg and his cousins- I felt bad packing it up because all 3 kids were so content playing inside. What fun!

We came home to meet Brandon, Sam and Gavin, hang out for a while and exchange gifts for the kids. Wade got a firetruck that makes all sorts of cool noises, and Gavin found the flashing lights quite captivating :)
Wade was such fun this year and thoroughly enjoyed Santa and all the songs, stories and events. Although when I told him about Santa coming down the chimney to deliver presents, he wasn't too sure he liked that idea...
I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and got to enjoy time with their friends and family!

Winter (-ish) fun!

It's not as wintery here as in MI, but we are still having fun enjoying the time of year and the season. Here are some of the things we've done lately:
Playing in the leaves.
Wade was laughing so hard as I threw handfuls of leaves up in the air and he watched them fall down on him!
Building some stuff at Lowe's kid's workshop. So far, we've built a bus and car. We have yet to put together some Christmas ornaments, a snowman frame and a gingerbread house. Wade has a cool Lowe's apron that has patches from all the things he's built on it. Of course, he refuses to wear it :)

Watching Daddy furiously untangle the Christmas lights.

"Here you go, Daddy!"

Wade contributed two ornaments to the tree this year!

Oh, Christmas tree!

Helping Mama make cookies.
Wade was really good at sprinkling on the chocolate chips and patting down the crust.
There was a little taste-testing along the way...
