First job- complete!

Here is the first batch I have made per request- my first actual "job." Although it is for a co-worker and I'm only charging her for supplies. Never thought I'd get a job this quick :)

The monsters consisted of 2 dozen vanilla cupcakes with vanilla Swiss meringue buttercream frosting. Their eyes are Mn M's. I loved making these guys!

Happy Mother's Day!

Recent events...

Here are some things we've been up to lately:

Wandering around the house at all hours. This is where I found Wade in the middle of the night one night. Yes, he is upside down...

Wade "playing" Don't Spill the Beans. One of my favorite games from when I was a kid. Usually he's just interested in the beans, but sometimes he likes to actually play and topple over the bean pot :)

Last Saturday, we fulfilled one of Mark's dreams of taking Wade and I to a Willie Nelson concert. If you can imagine taking a 2 year-old to a crowded (thankfully, outdoor) concert, that about sums it up... He did have fun dancing and managed not to get stepped on by any of the other concert-goers as he occupied himself by playing in the dirt.

Sometimes, helping Daddy in the garden is messy work...

...and cold too!

Gotta love outdoor naked time ;)

Hop, hop, hop!

This year, we did the usual Easter stuff- we colored eggs, went on Easter egg hunts, went to church and then played in the sprinkler. We ended the night with a community bath for all 3 "big kids." They had so much fun! I can't wait for the school year to be over so the cousins can play together this summer!

Mark humoring me by helping to color Easter eggs...

Wade was great helper this year.
I'm proud to report that there were no egg-fatalities...

He does NOT, however, like to eat eggs of any sort.
Especially the hard-boiled kind...

Hunting for Easter eggs with Babe.

I found one!

The girls playing in the sprinkler ball that Uncle T. brought over.

Wade was really fast ;)

Splish, splash!

Thank you Nene and Boppa for the "fan."
It has all sorts of great uses- listening the noise in my ear, making it windy outside, blowing random things on the ground, creating circles in the sand box...

Movie critic

Lately, as Wade's attention span has lengthened, we have taken him to a few movies and watched more at home. His first movie in the theater was Tangled. It was really cute, the first Disney movie I'd seen in awhile. His second was Gnomeo and Juliet, not quiet as cute as Tangled, but Wade loved it just the same. He sits motionless the entire time, except to sneak handfulls of popcorn. When it's over, he cries, "More, Momma!" Really? You want more than and hour and a half of sitting still?!
At home, we have Tinkerbell on our DVR and I think we've watched it about 6 times. He also likes the Toy Story movies, Peter Pan and Beauty and the Beast- especially Beauty and the Beast. We went to Blockbuster the other day and he picked all the movies with the princesses on the covers. Mark says it's because he likes the pretty girls. I just think it's cute :)

Here we are having a "picnic" during one of our many viewings of Tinkerbell. I love how he gets some of the silly parts now and laughs out loud :)
