Updates...

I know, I know... It's been way too long! Well, school's out for the summer and I can't wait to start spending my days with Wade. I have big ideas for a sign language class with Sharisa and Kent and I also see some swimming lessons in Wade's future :)

Apparently between 25-28 weeks things really start happening! Wade is now sitting up on his own, rarely does he fall over- I think he only does it when he's bored with sitting up, or he thinks we forgot about him! He rolled over a bunch of times and then hasn't done it since. Mark has a theory that he can- if he wants to, but he just doesn't want to!
He is also starting to experiment with a sippy cup of water and seems to really like it. Most of it ends up down his chin onto his shirt though...
During the day, we love to play in his bouncer and outside in his swing. He has become such a character lately. He loves the dogs and any time Riley comes near him, he bursts out laughing. I'll have to try to catch that one on video.
We went to the doctor for his 6 month appointment and shots. He is 19 lbs and 15 oz (Mark was so disappointed that he didn't break the 20 lb mark) and 29 inches. That puts him at the 75% for weight and still above the 95% for height- the doctor thinks we may have a basketball player on our hands!
As soon as I can figure out how to crawl- I'm coming to get you!

The bouncer makes me crazy!

Making a statement:

Sitting with Dad on the front porch

Dad pushes me really high and I have to hang on tight!

Gosh, he's gotten so big! I'm so excited that he's sitting up! He's turning into a little boy, and man, what a cutie he is. I just love his expressions.
I'm glad you're going to do sign; we've been doing it with RJ since she was itty-bitty, and she's now starting to sign back to us! I started getting discouraged around 7mths and kindof stopped doing it as much, b/c I thought she should be doing it back by then (I'm so new at this!), but soon after that, she started doing her first sign! After that, I got all excited to continue, and now it's so fun to communicate with her! So, stick with it, even if you get discouraged, b/c they're soaking it all in and will sign back .... eventually.

We started out signing DADDY, MOMMY, EAT, MORE, MILK, FINISHED/ALL DONE, BATH, & then we added on DRINK, WATER, SLEEP, POTTY & I LOVE YOU. I'm just now starting to do HURT (I have a feeling we could get a lot of mileage out of this one...& I'm hoping that would help her to not cry as much when she falls b/c she'd be able to tell us she hurt herself), HELP, & THANK YOU.
Her first sign was ALL DONE/FINISHED when she was eating; that was around 8 mths, but like I said we had been signing with her for mths at this point. Her next sign was around 9/10 mths - EAT. Then, shortly after that came MILK & MORE. (Do you notice how everything has to with mealtime?)
Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm no pro, but I'd love to share any encouragement I can. Hang in there!
